Is La Hacienda Park in Punta Cana worth visiting? That was the big question we asked ourselves before adding it to our itinerary. We’d read some things, but we wanted to experience it for ourselves and share our complete adventure. So, if you’re looking for La Hacienda Park reviews before your trip, you’ve come to the right place!
In this blog post, we’re sharing our honest, detailed, first-person review, from buying the tickets to the last adrenaline-pumping jump. We’ll tell you what we loved, what you need to know before you go, and why we believe this is one of the best adventure experiences in Punta Cana.
Preparing for Our Adventure (Pre-Visit Tips)
We booked our tickets in advance through La Hacienda Park’s official website. The whole process was quick and clear. We chose the $99 package and opted to get there on our own since we had a rental car.
What we brought:
- Comfortable, cool clothing, ideally athletic wear.
- Closed-toe shoes (important for ziplining and buggies).
- Sunscreen and insect repellent.
- Hat and sunglasses.
- GoPro and a fully charged phone to capture everything.
- An extra change of clothes in case we ended up soaked (spoiler: we did!).
We recommend arriving early (between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.) as this is when different groups are assigned, and everyone goes through the activities as a group.

Arrival and First Impressions
Getting to the park from the Bávaro area is very easy by simply putting the location into Google Maps. From the moment we arrived at the park, we felt a very professional organization. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a brief orientation and our group was organized with other visitors. All the staff were friendly and clear in their instructions.
The park’s atmosphere is natural and vibrant, surrounded by mountains, tropical vegetation, and contagious energy. It feels like a mix between an adventure park and an ecological reserve.
Zipline: The Best View from the Sky!
The ziplines were our first challenge. There are 5 lines, and one of them is over 1 kilometer long! The feeling of flying between trees and mountains was indescribable. All the equipment is modern, and the staff calmly explains each step, instilling a lot of confidence.
Tip: You’re not allowed to carry your phone on this activity, but they offer a locker where you can store your belongings. In our case, we were able to get some shots with the GoPro fixed to the harness.

Ask about weight limits for this activity.
Buggies: Extreme Fun on Wheels
One of our favorite activities! The buggies travel a private circuit with mud, inclines, and spectacular views. We ended up covered in dirt, but happy.
The ride is more for enjoyment; while you don’t reach high speeds, it’s a lot of fun, and it’s impossible to escape the mud. For safety, only people with a driver’s license are allowed to drive, and a speed limit must be observed.
Halfway through the ride, you reach a natural river where you can wash off some of the mud, though you’re sure to get muddy again on the way back.
Practical tip: Bring a bandana to cover your mouth and dark glasses. The mud is part of the show. Be aware that the clothes you’re wearing will get completely muddy.

Horseback Riding: Amidst Nature and Tranquility
This was a perfect pause to enjoy the surroundings. The horses are well-cared for, and the ride is gentle, ideal for any age. We passed through natural trails and had time to connect with the environment.
Although it was my first time horseback riding, I was able to do this activity without any problems, and it was actually one of my favorites.
Important: There are weight restrictions for this activity. Inquire before booking.
Cultural Safari: Coffee, Cocoa, and Tradition
This tour surprised us. We learned about the production of coffee, chocolate, and mamajuana, while also encountering local and farm animals. We also tried typical products like chocolate, coffee, and mamajuana.
The chocolate is by far the best I’ve tasted; once you try it, you’ll agree with me.
Tip: You’re allowed to bring your phone on this activity, and there’s open Wi-Fi in the rural village area. There are several spots to take photos and post them right there.
Quick Jump: Do You Dare?
For the bravest, this free fall is a must-do. Our hearts were in our throats, but we’d do it again without hesitation.
The most challenging part is the moment of the jump, as the fall itself isn’t a true free fall; there’s a cable that helps you descend at a controlled speed. Still, the adrenaline rush of the jump is something you won’t forget.
Tip: Control your mind and dare to do it. It’s much more fun than it looks.
Chairlift: Relax and Enjoy the Scenery
The only chairlift in the country was our respite amidst so much excitement. The views of the park and Anamuya mountain from above are spectacular. Ideal for taking photos and recharging your energy.
Recommendation: They only allow you to bring a GoPro, as it’s the start of the zipline circuit.
Food and Drink
Lunch was buffet-style, with typical Dominican dishes: rice, meats, vegetables, salads, and fruits. Everything was fresh and well-served. We loved the attention from the dining hall staff.
Tip: Drinks were not included in our package, but we saw that they are included in the VIP package.

What We Liked Most About La Hacienda Park
- The organization of the tour: everything flows smoothly with no downtime or crowds.
- The variety of activities: there are options for all tastes and adventure levels.
- The staff: friendly, well-trained, and always attentive to safety.
- The nature: the surroundings are simply beautiful.
A special anecdote was when one of us conquered their fear of heights on the last zipline. The group’s applause was unforgettable!
Things to Consider (Additional Tips)
- Bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and an extra change.
- Don’t forget cash for souvenirs.
- There’s always a photographer taking pictures of you and your group; consider bringing money if you want to buy the album at the end of the tour.
- Buggies are shared; four people go per buggy. However, you have the option to pay an additional fee for only two people in the buggy.
- Check weight restrictions for certain activities (like zipline and horseback riding).
- If you’re going with small children or elderly people, inquire in advance about which activities are suitable.

We left happy, full of memories, with hundreds of photos, and the feeling of having made the most of our day.
